Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
OpenDeck is designed to collect nothing. This policy explains, plainly, what that means.
Summary
- OpenDeck does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
- It makes no network requests — there are no servers, accounts, analytics, ads, or trackers.
- Everything you open or import stays on your device.
What the app stores, and where
OpenDeck is a viewer for self-contained presentation documents (“decks”). When you import or open a deck, the app saves it locally on your device so it appears in your library:
- On iPhone, iPad, and Mac: in the app’s own private storage area, managed by the operating system.
- In the web/PWA version: in your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) on your own device.
This content never leaves your device through OpenDeck. The app has no backend, so there is nowhere for it to be sent. Deleting a deck from the library removes it from local storage; deleting the app removes all of it.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect or process any of the following: name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics, crash telemetry, cookies, or the contents of your decks. We do not build profiles and do not sell or share data, because we have none.
No third parties
OpenDeck bundles its fonts and icons inside the app and does not load anything from third-party servers or content-delivery networks. It includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
A deck is a self-contained HTML document that runs in an isolated, sandboxed environment within the app. OpenDeck itself initiates no network activity. The sandbox is configured to keep deck content contained and unable to reach the rest of the app.
Children’s privacy
OpenDeck is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children. Because no personal information is ever gathered, the app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction).
Your rights
Since OpenDeck holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of the decks stored locally on your device and can remove them at any time.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
