OpenDeck — for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and any browser
OpenDeck is a player for decks — self-contained HTML presentation documents (.deck files). It needs no account and no internet connection. This page covers the common questions; if you're stuck, get in touch.
Getting started
- First run. A short welcome deck is already in your library so you can see how it works right away.
- Open a deck. Tap a
.deckfile in Files, Mail, or AirDrop, or use the system Share sheet and choose OpenDeck. It’s added to your library. - Present it. Tap the right half of the screen to advance, the left half to go back; arrow keys work too. Use Fullscreen for a clean view.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add my own decks?
Import any .deck file via Files, AirDrop, or the share sheet. To create decks, use the free OpenDeck skill with your AI coding agent — see open-deck.org for the one-step install and a prompt to try.
What is a .deck file?
A single, self-contained presentation: slides, animation, and (optionally) baked-in voice narration in one file. It opens offline and doesn’t depend on any server.
Which devices does OpenDeck run on?
The app runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And because a deck is just a self-contained HTML page, an exported deck opens in any modern web browser on any device — whether you host it on your own website, email it, or open it from disk. The same deck looks and behaves the same everywhere.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. There’s no sign-in, and decks play fully offline once they’re in your library.
Is my data private?
Yes. OpenDeck collects nothing and makes no network requests — everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
A deck won’t open — what should I check?
Make sure the file ends in .deck and finished downloading completely, then try importing it again from Files or the share sheet. If a specific deck still fails, send it to us and we’ll take a look.
